TO RUN:

There is a "Secure Deletion" folder created in the user's "Documents", or "My Documents", folder. Place items in the Secure Deletion folder. Click on the "sdFolder" shortcut located in the Start Menu's Programs list whenever you are ready to have the items in the Secure Deletion folder encrypted, overwritten, and removed.

Because of the time involved when the folder's contents are overwritten, it is highly recommended that the size of the Secure Deletion folder, located in your Documents folder, not be allowed to get any larger than a few megabytes. It can be larger though. The overwrite procedure has been checked with folders larger than 100 megabytes, Items such as protected operating system files or write-protected files might also cause an error.

When working with protected items, such as system files, check the Secure Deletion folder and verify that all contents have been removed by the overwrite procedure.

You can create a shortcut to the Secure Deletion folder. Name that shortcut anything you like, use any icon you like, and "Cut" and "Paste" the shortcut anywhere you want. Use the shortcut to open the Secure Deletion folder and place items in the folder or take items out of the folder.
